Morning Call - February 11, 2018
Cold wind
Snow & hail showers

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 11th February 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Bright skies and sunshine

Good morning,

Low pressure which crossed Britain overnight, moves toward southern Scandinavia during today. Fronts will have cleared, although a wrap-around occlusion may influence eastern areas in the morning, giving rain and hill snow for a few hours.

A cold westerly pattern influences the British Isles during today, with clusters of snow and hail showers spreading from the west - these locally frequent or near-constant over several hours. Risk of isolated thunder. Snow will fall and lie to low levels, producing icy conditions.

A few showers will move across central and eastern regions, but there will be plenty of bright and sunny weather. Feeling very cold in brisk westerly winds. Squally gusts around showers.

Today's top temperatures will be 2 to 4C for most places, but feeling sub-zero. Locally up to 6C in the south-east.

Have a great day.
